Who receives your personal information

We are part of the BP Group and may, in certain circumstances, share your information with other members of the Group internally in order to provide you with the best service. We do this under a comprehensive, flexible, and global compliance framework which implements appropriate measures and safeguards (including EU standard contractual clauses) to ensure an adequate level of protection whenever information is shared between BP Group members.

 

In addition we employ the services of a third-party service provider to host our webcasts and offer technical support. This third-party provider must act in accordance with our written instructions when processing your personal information and must comply with the contractual protections we have put in place.

 

We reserve the right to disclose your personal information as required by law, or when we believe that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights and/or comply with a judicial proceeding, court order, request from a regulator or any other legal process served on BP. In the event that we are subject to a takeover, divestment or acquisition we may disclose your personal information to the new (or prospective) owner of the business.

 

International transfer of personal information

Since we operate globally, we may transfer your information to other countries (which may be located outside the EEA). Where we
transfer personal information to other members of the BP Group our comprehensive, flexible, and global compliance framework which implements appropriate measures and safeguards (including EU standard contractual clauses) to ensure an adequate level of protection irrespective of where our BP entities or staff are based.

 

How long do we keep your information?

We will only hold your information for the time required to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected.

 

In particular we will:

  • delete any ‘contact us’ communications once we have finally disposed of your query;
  • delete* your name from the relevant distribution list when you unsubscribe from that service;
  • delete the cookies we have dropped on your device in accordance with our cookie policy.

*Please note that when you click on the unsubscribe link at the bottom of our newsletters and webcasts you will be given the option to (i) unsubscribe from individual services in which case your contact details will be held on a suppression list. Alternatively you can unsubscribe from all of our communications, in which case your information will be irreversibly anonymised.

 

We reserve the right to continue to use an aggregated form of your information (where you can no longer be identified) for statistical purposes.

 

Your rights

Please note that in certain circumstances you are entitled to:

  • access and review a copy of the personal data that BP holds about you;
  • have incomplete or inaccurate personal information which relates to you corrected;
  • ask for deletion of your personal information if it is being processed unlawfully;
